How to train my puppy to stop jumping on me

Postby Don Phediuk

hello!
I adopted a Saint Bernard puppy, he's a 1 years old male.
We thought he would be gentle and sweet, but he's only like that when he's tired. When he's awake he jumps onto counters and gets into a lot of stuff, chews on household items, and shows way too much aggression when he plays. He jumped up on me and started ripping up my coat,
I have a few scars from the bites.
What should i do ? any advice ?

A watchdog is a dog kept to guard your home, usually by sleeping where a burglar would awaken the household by falling over him.

I think you should get specialised help. Your dog seems to have a lot of bad things related to his behaviour. And he is 1 year old, quite old for you to be able to train him on your own. A trainer is the best option and you should get one before it's too late.

This behaviour doesn't mean you have a bad dog. I think his previous owner didn't give him enough attention and love. It seems like a dog that was left alone for many hours during a day and got bored, so he started to do what all dogs do: jump, chew, break stuff, bite. But you still have the chance to make thing better.

Hello, Don Phediuk ! Are you serious about this ? Dogs are social animals. Maybe I can help you... but later
